Arkansas Cup Tennis Foundation hosts Special Olympics clinic

“Let me win.  But if I cannot win, let me be
brave  in the attempt.”  –   Athlete Oath

Arkansas Cup Tennis Foundation hosted the 4th Special Olympics Arkansas clinic of 2021, and the participation never cease to just humble me. First off, to take people who have never experienced our sport before, start to get excited about playing and start asking when is the next time they can play is awesome.

Secondly, a big shout out to Deanna Garretson and Jared Compton for stepping up and helping today was a lifesaver. I am truly grateful. It is always a great time to see these athletes out playing any sport, but put it with a sport that I am passionate about, and its a whole different ball game.

Special Olympics started as a summer camp in 1968 and it turned into a global movement. We can only hope that we can create the same excitement around a sport here in Arkansas. One clinic at a time, one connection to a grassroots organization that is passionate about teaching tennis to a special population group, we can make tennis strong here in our back yard.
